Museums are places where families can explore and learn together. Families can enjoy a range of exhibitions, events and activities during their visit to Queensland Museum Cobb+Co.

Staff are located throughout Queensland Museum Cobb+Co to assist, offer directions or interpret information. Children’s activities and interactions feature throughout our exhibitions.

Moving around the museum

Children supervision
Children 15 years and under must be accompanied by a carer or guardian at all times when visiting the museum.

Pram access
The museum is accessible for parents bringing prams or strollers. Exhibition areas in the museum are accessed via gently sloping ramps or are at ground level.

Family room
There is a baby care room and a family room with fold-down change tables located near The Factory.

Child-friendly eating
Cobb’s Coffee Shop has child-friendly menu options. Highchairs are available upon request. 

Interactive play spaces
The Coach Stop play area: Dress up and pretend to ride a Cobb & Co. coach through the outback. Play in the Queensland Museum Cobb+Co General Store. Escape to Harry's Hideout and read a story book amongst the wildlife decorating the walls. Take a ride on our life-sized replica horse, Socks.

Learning at the museum

When visiting the museum, adults accompanying children are encouraged to scaffold and model learning behaviours such as conversations, observations, comparisons and inquiring to learn together.

This will foster a love of learning while supporting connections to environments and communities from local to global. Museums are a great way to make learning fun and learn at your own pace.
